Festivals are times to enjoy and celebrate; they are also times for people from various cultures and ethnicities to get together and have a good time. Festa de Saoi Benedito, better known as the festival of St. Benedict is the center of attraction during the month of June in the central western part of this country. Traditional dances and food item are the main attractions of this feast. This time is also used up by the cowboys of the north eastern regions to ask for blessings from the gods by partaking in a special cowboy Mass. A number of sacrificial items like locally made cheese; grain pods and cow boy equipment are laid down at the altar to please the gods. The independence day of Brazil falls on the 7th of September and is the only day where the public of this country rest and relax. The feast of the Virgin of Nazarene marks the onset of the month of October and is another of the great Brazil holidays. It is marked by festivities that last for a period of two weeks. The festival begins with the transportation of the virgin to the basilica and ends with her return to the cathedral. Traditional feast includes foodstuffs like roast duck in olive oil accompanied by a seasoning of onions, garlic and lemon juice. The whole feast is then boiled in juice extracted from the manioc plant. The Octoberfest celebrated in the region of blumenau is basically a harvest festival that includes merrymaking and a lot of beer guzzling and sausage eating and is certainly Brazil holiday information that everyone takes a look at. The Pinga festival is organized to celebrate the production of alcohol made from cane sugar.

This country is in a festive mood throughout the year except on the day of independence where the people refrain from merrymaking in memory of those who played a pivotal role in making Brazil and independent colony.
