Ultimate Italy Vacation
December 24, 2008 – 11:13 amThe ultimate Italy vacation can be yours
Planning for an Italy vacation? Then what are you waiting for? To begin with, allow me to give you a sneak peak as to what this place has to offer.
Italy is known for its romantic ambiance. Everywhere you look, beauty is all around. It is one of the must-see places in the world fit for a wanderer’s soul to visit. When you travel to Italy there is nothing to worry whether you would fit in or not. The people are superbly warm. The food is insanely delicious with its vast selection of delicacies to choose from.
Italy is the home of breathtaking nature
For nature trippers, the mountainous regions are nothing short of breathtaking. You can go hiking, biking, camping and just be blown away by the amazing scenery sculpted by history. As much as possible, avoid going to resorts. No, I have nothing against having a grand time at the beach as I am a beach lover myself, knowing Italy’s long sandy beaches. My point is avoiding resorts makes you see what Italy really is up close.
Italy is the home of historic culture
There is so much history and culture that a lifetime is not enough to grasp it all. For first time travelers, I suggest Rome or Verona. In Verona it is not fully packed with tourists (like some other places) and there you get a chance to see the Colosseum, one of the grandest architectural treasures of the Roman Empire. Functioning as an amphitheater back in 80 A.D. with a seating capacity for 50,000 viewers, it is a battle ground for gladiators fighting exotic beasts on a mock combat for entertainment purposes. Despite its ruined state at present, it remains to be one of Rome’s top tourist attractions. Those who travel to Italy and prefer to stay in Verona can pay a visit to Juliet’s house and stand in the balcony where she called out to his Romeo. How romantic could that be?
The Trevi Fountain with its baroque inspired architecture is worth visiting. It is believed that when you throw a coin over your shoulder and make a wish, Neptune, the stature in the middle of the fountain might grant what you are asking. Not leaving the boundaries of Rome, you should not overlook the Home of the Pope - Vatican City. It is there you can have your photographs taken at the St. Peter’s Square, the Basilica and the Sistine Chapel where Michelangelo’s world-renowned masterpiece resides.
Sightseeing in Italy can take all day
After the day’s sightseeing, you can take a break and grab delicious snacks from a trattoria or a pizzeria or better yet, have an elegant dining on restaurants with mouthwatering dishes on their menus. Your culinary experience would never be the same once you’ve tasted their delicacies.
I’m not even halfway with the list of all the good sights you should not fail to see in Italy. The roll is just too long and it would take me hundreds of pages just to give you all the details. See how rich Italy is? You can search the internet using keywords such as Rome Italy, Italy travel guide or the like to help you plan on your Italy escapades. At this point allow me to say don’t forget your cameras and have a happy, fun- filled trip. Ciao!!!
