Rio de Janeiro
Rio de Janeiro (River of January) is probably the most famous tourist spot in Brazil and one of the most beautiful cities in the world. A trip up to the Sugar Loaf Mountain (Pao de Acucar) will give you a breathtaking 360 degrees view of Rio and Guanabara Bay.
Rio is also the home to centuries old buildings, magnificent churches, and fascinating museums including the Museu Nacional(National Museum) where numerous American archaeological artifacts are kept. Visiting Rio de Janeiro wouldn’t be complete without a dip in the world famous Copacabana and Ipanema Beach where you’ll find the perfect combination of sun, sea, and serenity.
Catching the Carnival in Rio is definitely a must-see. It is a 4-day celebration during the summer season. Some may argue that this is not the best time to visit Brazil due to the hundreds of travelers all over the world coming to see the Carnival. But if you’re in for the grandest Brazilian party filled with music, costumes, food, and parade, then you’d better catch the Carnival in Rio.
Florianopolis
Beach lovers will find paradise in the beautiful island of Florianopolis, located at the southern coast of Brazil. It is home to forty-two sandy beaches with white sands, crystal clear waters and gentle breezes. In this picturesque island, you will also discover fresh water lagoons, grandiose mountains, rocky coasts, and the perfect locations for extreme water sports like paragliding and windsurfing. Florianopolis also has world-class luxury resorts and spas to soothe those stress away.
Sau Paulo
If you’re in for a modern and sophisticated kind of vacation, the city of Sau Paulo will tickle each of your fancy. If Brazil is the United States, Sau Paulo is definitely the Big Apple with its cosmopolitan lifestyle complete with bars, clubs and museums that house the grandest art collections and sculptures. In Jardines (the business district) you’ll find a wide variety of exotic cuisines, including the famous Brazilian beef.
Brazilians are considered to be one of the friendliest people in the world. If you’re looking for a warm and interesting place for a vacation, Brazil has everything—from scenic beaches, historical cities with colonial buildings, delectable international and local cuisine, and world-famous festivities. You can visit Brazil anytime of the year, though it is advisable not to go during the off-school season (from December to February) where the sites are usually overcrowded with locals.
