Weather Rio De Janeiro Brazil
May 12, 2008 – 3:34 pmHow is the Weather in Rio de Janeiro Brazil?
It’s time to go on your vacation to Rio De Janeiro Brazil. But one question burns in your mind: how shall I dress for the occasion? The weather in Rio de Janeiro is a favorite topic for many people so we’ll take a look at the subject in depth in this article.
Rio de Janeiro has four seasons, namely winter, summer, spring, and fall. Traditionally, the weather is hot in spring, very hot in summer, hotter in autumn, and basically hot in the winter.

Rains usually begin by the end of March. The average temperature is generally maintained between 20 C to 42 C, where 20 C is usually considered to be very cold by the locals. By the time temperatures are cold, the city is already wet from rains. It is generally stated that 80% humidity is tolerable for Cariocas, or citizens of Rio de Janeiro.
Since most of the time the weather is considerably hot, going to the beach is never a problem. Visitors and locals alike go to the beach all year round and do different beach activities like swimming, hang gliding, surfing, volleyball, and almost any other outdoor activity you can dream up.
You can also enjoy sun bathing all year round on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro. Though the lowest temperature is 20 C and might be considered cold by the locals, it is still hot for people from most other countries. In fact, it’s hot enough for them to lay on the beach and sun bathe to their heart’s content.
So when would be the best time for you to travel to Brazil or Rio de Janeiro? Since most of time the weather is hot, you can eliminate bad weather as a factor. Personally, I would surmise it’s best to travel to Rio de Janeiro when the weather in your neck of the woods is coldest and most depressing.
As most tourists have been advised, it;s better to go to Rio de Janeiro during the time when they’re having their world famous Carnaval, which is the main tourist attraction for the entire area. This is the time when the pop culture of the Brazilians is showcased in different streets around Rio de Janeiro. This event is usually held 40 days before Easter and it’s usually advisable to stay for the duration of the Carnaval which usually lasts for 4 days, so that you may become immersed in the festive mood of the Brasilians, while you feel their culture at its’ high point.
If you decide to stay longer then 4 days then you’ll probably want to visit the different beaches in the area. In particular, you’ll want to check out the Copacabana, which is perennially ranked among the top 10 beaches in the world. You better plan on getting to this beach early because it does tend to get a bit crowded, especially since the place is not only visited by locals and tourists, but even famous celebrities from around the world. You may also want to stop by the Ipanema beach which is usually associated with the song “Girl from Ipanema”.
Now that you have an idea of how the weather is like in Rio de Janeiro you may now continue packing your things, keeping in mind their climate and the activities you planned to do.
My advise is to dress light and bring a light heart with you on your journey.
